Senior Research Associate - Optimization Expert

We are currently seeking an Optimization Expert to work with senior members of our Research and Development group in our Atlanta, Georgia office.

Responsibilities:
The primary job responsibilities are developing algorithmic software to optimize certain problems arising in the quantitative finance such as portfolio rebalancing and trade scheduling. The candidate will be expected to work closely with other senior members of the research group in developing algorithms for both our off-the-shelf software products and customized software that is developed as part of consulting engagements.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related area with expertise in one of the following areas of optimization: interior-point methods, integer programming, nonlinear programming, or stochastic programming
  • Extensive experience coding algorithms in area of expertise
  • Experience programming in C++
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Other Skills:(Candidates having the following skills will be given highest consideration.)
  • Experience developing with Java, Python, and Matlab

Senior Equity Risk Modeling Researcher

We are currently seeking a Senior Equity Risk Modeling Researcher to work on the design and development of equity risk models in our Research Department in Atlanta, Georgia.

Responsibilities:
The primary job responsibility is to research, build, and maintain both short- and long-term equity risk models across different markets. The candidate will also be expected to work on the research and development of global risk models that cover all major international equity markets. Additionally, the candidate will communicate with product development regarding the integration of our risk models with our risk analysis, performance attribution, and portfolio construction software platform.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills. The candidate should be able to write white papers that describe the techniques used to create the risk models and effectively demonstrate their predictive capabilities, present risk modeling techniques and results to current and prospective clients. Additionally the candidate will be expected to provide guidance and technical expertise in the area of statistics and probability theory to the project leaders of other portfolio management and trading products.

Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in financial econometrics or statistics with strong knowledge of multivariate statistics and times-series modeling. Knowledge of cross-sectional, time-series, and statistical techniques of modeling multivariate equity risk are required.
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical package such as S-PLUS, R, SPSS, or SAS.
Other Skills:(Candidates having the following skills will be given highest consideration.)
  • Expertise in empirical asset pricing
  • Experience with an object oriented language such as Java, C++, or Python
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle

Senior Sales Executive

The Company is seeking an experienced sales professional to service its existing and prospective client base on the East Coast of the US.

The Position:
The position is responsible for driving awareness, understanding, acceptance and adoption of Axioma products within the investment management community. The candidate filling this role will have responsibility for short-term sales goals and mid-term pipeline management. The first 6-12 months, will primarily focus on learning and applying the early stages of the Axioma sales process, including opportunity identification, initial communication with prospects, and developing/presenting potential solutions. The final stages of the sales process will typically be managed as a joint effort between the Salesperson and a senior member of the team.

The Candidate:
The minimum qualifications required for the position include 3-5 years professional sales experience and a deep understanding of the investment management process. The candidate must be smart, energetic, and comfortable applying quantitative methods for analysis and decision-making purposes. The selected candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills, strong active listening skills, and a genuine enthusiasm for helping the client/prospect solve their business problems. In addition, he or she must be able to engender a feeling of trust in the client.

Favorable consideration will be given to those candidates with an MBA and/or experience selling high end software or complex services to the investment management community. Small company experience is helpful, but more importantly the candidate should demonstrate previous success applying a structured sales process. The 'ideal' candidate will a deep list of contacts in the portfolio management community, and will have sold or extensively used portfolio optimization software.

He or she will understand the need to secure revenues for the Company in the short term, but also demonstrate customer-facing skills necessary to build long-term business relationships with clients. He or she will demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and entrepreneurial spirit, and be willing to assume the responsibilities of building and managing a sales team in the future.

Compensation:
Compensation is commensurate with experience and results obtained, which includes meaningful equity participation, competitive cash compensation including fixed and variable components.

Senior Java Developer

Duties:
  • Designs develops, and implements Java code for all products to support business requirements. This includes the design of classes, class hierarchies, product configuration, configuration of tools used to deliver the product, and configuration of tools used to support the product.
  • Assists in the estimation of product development efforts.
  • Assists in design sessions with clients and product management on prospective new product features.
  • Mentors other developers on various tasks.
  • Follows Axioma development processes, coding standards, and methodologies.
  • Creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing.
  • Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to estimate development time and accomplish goals.

Requirements:

Axioma is currently seeking a Client Support Analyst to work in Atlanta- area office.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor front-line client support systems including 800 number and web-based chat
  • Track support cases through the resolution process, coordinating with other Axioma personnel as needed

Software Developer - Research Assistant

The primary job responsibilities are developing internal software for creating equity risk models, automated systems to test risk models and portfolio construction products, and prototypes of new quantitative-finance methodologies. The candidate will be expected to work closely with senior members of the research group to develop and test financial equity risk models, risk analytics, performance attribution techniques, and other quantitative finance methodologies, compile and analyze test results, and report results to the research team. The candidate will also be expected to help with the building of new product releases and maintenance of source code repositories.

Requirements:
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or related area.
