Axioma Performance Attribution

Axioma Performance Attribution is designed to help portfolio managers, traders, risk analysts and marketing managers understand the sources of return and risk in their portfolios and the consistency and repeatability of a manager's strategy. It offers explanations for the success and failure of portfolio strategies and helps distinguish unintuitive and random results from those derived from a methodical, predictable process. Reliable performance attribution can help differentiate skill from luck and help you and your associates excel.

Axioma Performance Attribution enables you to:
  • Offer attribution of an individual portfolio' returns along investment criteria that are intuitive to the portfolio managers and their clients, as well as consistent with the investment policy of the portfolio.
  • Report all key sources of returns on a risk-adjusted basis.
  • Allow the analysis of multiple portfolios simultaneously for the purpose of determining consistency between portfolios, as well as identifying the sources of differing returns.
  • Backtest a quantitative strategy by determining the historical performance of a portfolio invested on the basis of a particular signal, and the sources of information within that signal.
  • Segregate skill from luck.
Axioma offers these functionalities within one product solution. Axioma Performance Attribution is also integrated with Axioma Portfolio and Axioma Robust Risk Models. This ensures that the performance attribution can be consistent with all other elements of your investment process, from portfolio construction to risk analysis and monitoring.

Performance Analysis offers both factor attribution and Brinson attribution methodologies. Axioma Performance Attribution is available with single country, regional and global coverage. All of these models include standard benchmarks appropriate for their markets, and in the regional and global models, a variety of standard regional and global benchmarks. A portfolio can have its performance measured against one of the Axioma-supplied standard benchmarks or any user-supplied custom benchmark.
