Relationship Manager

Axioma is seeking a Relationship Manager to join our East Coast Sales Team. The position is based in our New York office and reports to Director of Sales, US East.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement account strategies with aggressive goals of retaining and growing revenue at existing Axioma clients
  • Identify opportunities for growth as well as threats to client relationships
  • Serve as primary liaison between clients and Axioma
  • Facilitate communication and interaction between clients and Axioma resources (client support, applied research, product development, executive management, etc.)
  • Grow relationships at multiple levels of client organizations – users, decision makers, vendor management, IT, etc.
  • Position Axioma's value proposition, linking benefits to the clients’ key business issues
  • Lead internal support and product teams on client evaluations with upsell potential
  • Coordinate training programs to expand client usage
  • Manage contracting and billing processes
  • Communicate product enhancements to clients
  • Gather timely feedback from clients and communicate new requirements to product management
  • Manage steps to initiate a new client relationship, including installation of software, training, and transition of relationship from Sales Executive
  • Provide regular reports to sales management on progress towards achieving account objectives
  • Record sales activities and sales and maintain up-to-date account and contact information in CRM software
  • Work closely with marketing to identify clients suitable for referrals and case studies

Requirements:

The minimum qualifications required for the position include five years of experience in a professional relationship management position and a deep understanding of the equity portfolio management process. The candidate must have a proven track record of retaining and growing revenue from existing accounts and be a strong leader of internal cross-functional teams. The selected candidate will possess excellent written and oral communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for helping clients solve business problems.

Favorable consideration will be given to those candidates with an MBA, CFA and/or experience selling high end software to the investment management community, quantitative investors in particular. Small company experience is helpful, but more importantly the candidate should demonstrate previous success applying a structured sales process.

The ideal candidate will understand the need to secure revenues for the Company in the short term, but also demonstrate customer-facing skills necessary to build long-term business relationships with clients. He or she will demonstrate an aptitude for leadership and have entrepreneurial spirit.

Product Manager

Axioma is seeking an experienced product manager to join the product management team in our New York office. This position reports to the Senior Director of Product Management and will play a key role helping to direct Axioma’s risk product strategy.

The Product Manager is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle, including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and working closely with engineering, sales, marketing and support to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Product Manager's job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company's overall strategy and goals.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with an engineering counterpart to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

We use Scrum and other agile practices, and expect product managers to participate in improving our processes and practices. It is essential that you can work collaboratively in our team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the definition the product strategy and roadmap, helping to establish key priorities
  • Specify market requirements for current and future products based on market intelligence; this information will gathered from regularly scheduled visits to clients as well as from other client facing personnel
  • Run pilot programs with early-stage products and samples; leverage early stage feedback as a basis for future enhancements.
  • Analyze potential partner relationships for the product; work with closely with partners to assist them with the roll out of new product versions as well as new offerings.
  • Possess/acquire a strong understanding of the competitive landscape and how to position the firm’s products against its primary competitors.
  • Continually evaluate the core positioning and messaging for the product.
  • Work with Marketing to develop sales tools and collateral.
  • Brief and train the sales force on new and existing product offerings; assist sales with the high opportunity trials.

Requirements:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to communicate effectively and confidently with users, team members and management.
  • Excellent teamwork skills. Must be able to lead and work within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with (and understanding of) the investment decision making processes of equity managers is highly desirable; exposure to other asset classes from a buy-side perspective a plus but not essential.
  • Knowledge of financial markets and investment management tools including multi-factor risk models, risk analytics, and performance attribution.
  • Solid mathematical aptitude.
  • Knowledge of agile development methodologies helpful.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or Engineering from an accredited institution. MBA and/or CFA preferred; FRM designation a plus.
  • 5-10 years of software marketing/product management experience.

Responsibilities include:

  • 24/7 support of production database services to ensure the highest standards of availability, resilience, integrity, security and performance required by our business systems.
  • Design, development and administration of Oracle databases.
  • Performance monitoring, reporting, and tuning of Oracle databases.

Senior Equity Risk Modeling Researcher

Axioma is currently seeking a Senior Risk Modeling Research Associate to work on the design and development of equity risk models in our Research department in Atlanta, Georgia.

Responsibilities:

The primary job responsibility is to research, build, and maintain both short- and long-term equity risk models for various markets. The candidate will also be expected to work on the research and development of global risk models that cover all major international equity markets. Additionally, the candidate will communicate with product development regarding the integration of our risk models with our risk analysis, performance attribution, and portfolio construction software platform. Any candidate with experience modeling fixed-income risk or commodity risk will be given highest consideration.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills. The candidate should be able to write white papers that describe the techniques used to create the risk models and effectively demonstrate their predictive capabilities, present risk modeling techniques and results to current and prospective clients. Additionally the candidate will be expected to provide guidance and technical expertise in the area of statistics and probability theory to the project leaders of other portfolio management and trading products.

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in financial econometrics or statistics with strong knowledge of multivariate statistics and times-series modeling. Knowledge of cross-sectional, time-series, and statistical techniques of modeling multivariate equity risk are required.
  • Experience with an object oriented language such as Python or Java.

Other Skills: (Candidates having the following skills and experience will be given highest consideration.)

  • Expertise in empirical asset pricing
  • Proficiency in at least one statistical package such as S-PLUS, R, SPSS, or SAS.
  • Experience with SQL and Oracle
  • Experience in the financial services industry with responsibilities similar to those described here.
  • Numerical analysis, copulas, and financial accounting data expertise
  • Ability to travel and effectively present findings.
